주님!
저가 당신의 평화의 도구가 되게 하여 주시옵소서.
미움이 있는 곳에 사랑을
다툼이 있는 곳에 용서를
분쟁이 있는 곳에 화해를
의심이 있는 곳에 믿음을
잘못이 있는 곳에 진리를
절망이 있는 곳에 소망을
어두운 곳에 당신의 빛을
그리고 설움이 있는 곳에 기쁨을 전하는 도구가 되게 하여 주시옵소서.
제가 많은 것을 구하는 그런 사람이 되지 않게 하시고
위로받기보다는 위로하며
이해받기 보다는 이해하고
사랑받기보다는 사랑하는 사람이 되게 하여 주시옵소서.
이는 줌으로써 받고
용서함으로써 용서받으며
죽음으로써 영원한 생명을 얻게 되기 때문입니다.

Grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console
to be understood, as to understand
to be loved as to love
for it is in giving that we receive
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
